Answers to common questions about UktubAI.
What is UktubAI?
UktubAI is an AI academic workspace for cited literature reviews, academic reports, and grant proposals. Citations stay tied to your project's reference registry.
Why use this instead of ChatGPT?
A general chatbot starts with an open text box. UktubAI searches scholarly databases, drafts from a reference registry, and flags unknown citation keys in Studio.
How does UktubAI prevent citation hallucinations?
Drafting is limited to the references in your document's registry. Studio marks unknown citation keys, and the reference report identifies entries that still need attention. You should still review the underlying papers before submission.
What document types are supported?
Literature reviews, academic reports, and grant proposals are supported, with exact output options shown by plan.
How are citations verified?
UktubAI assigns each source a registry entry and keeps citations linked to it through drafting and editing. Studio flags unknown citation keys so you can resolve them before export.
Do I have to upload my own papers?
No. You can proceed with source discovery, and optionally upload PDFs to strengthen the source list for your draft.
How does the Studio editor work?
After drafting, highlight a section and request a targeted revision. Studio shows the change as a red/green diff so you can accept or reject it before it is saved.
What export formats are available?
Starter: PDF only (watermarked). Scholar: PDF and DOCX. Fellowship: PDF, DOCX, LaTeX, and BibTeX.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Starter includes one free lifetime document with up to 20 references. No card is required.
What are the plan limits?
Starter: 1 free lifetime document and 20 references. Scholar: 10 documents per month and 35 references per document for $19/month. Fellowship: 35 documents per month and 50 references per document for $59/month. Revisions and Studio edits do not use additional documents.
How do upgrades and cancellations work?
Upgrades take effect immediately (your limits increase). Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access until then. You can revert a scheduled cancellation anytime.
What happens to my files?
Uploaded PDFs and drafted documents are stored securely in your account. Deleting a project removes its artifacts. We recommend downloading anything sensitive you want to keep locally.
Who processes my data?
We use subprocessors such as Firebase, Stripe, OpenRouter, and underlying AI providers to operate the service. See the Privacy Policy for what is sent and why.
